week four: #1

In the “Open Letter to President McKinley” by the colored people of Massachusetts informed the reader of the colored people’s to object to the way they were living and to hand the legislation actions to what Charles Street in Boston in 1899. Yes, they did pass laws to the higher action people to be happy and have the power and enjoyment of living and their life itself. The colored people did have the "equal" rights in the action. However, the freedom rights by the union left with life threating to the south which was the colored people. The constitution states has been denied to the black people with their equal rights that were given to them have been lost. Legislative in opinion is to the civil rights. Legislation in the U.S has been and is still starving the colored which leads to their civil rights. Colored people in the Wilmington, N.C. were the blacks that did not do anything wrong or cause no crime, except the color of their skin that they cannot help, and went to the American citizenship. President McKinley intervened which was in the Cuban war of independence in the 1895. The colored people remained in the United States with their citizenship but although President McKinley is not in the process of addressing the legislation in congress to the recent race riots in the south. Legislation knew the colored people and they knew it was the right thing to do when it comes to the laws that should have already been passed into law. Also, colored people were mistreated in many ways and suffered from the fear of the KKK and other white people to be outraced on them or evil to them. The colored people were no longer slaves to within the ex-confederate states and the colored treated was very horrible in a lot of ways. Colored people are considered under law to a man or a woman. The citizen and evil of any man who was in the death in a public place and under law he was angry and didn’t under estimate the law in the constitution, therefore, they shouldn’t have the right in my opinion. This also moves towards the president who had called himself as "Christians" and they were wondering who claimed who were civil or not and the colored people who were suffering. The colored people were taking out of their own homes and were enslaved and walked on as for used. They became very weak and had no strength anymore. Civil rights came in a bad way to the equal rights it is today and how it was back people back in the history of the world that we are now studying. Going on, the rights and freedom were to vow to protect the constitution and defend them to the leader who was the president was also colored and Christian. He protects the word of a leader of the free world and a sensitive case to all the races out there and all the racial killing segregation of the Black African Americans to notice what they are living for and what people had died for.

week 3: Journal write #1

Understanding a metacognitive reflection based on my reading skills can go both ways. It could go on a bad side and a good side. When it comes to reading personally with me, I have a hard time understanding what I read if I am not interesting in the novel. When it comes to reading, I need a novel that is going to grab  my attention and the novel has to be something interesting or about something that is going to keep my eyes on the book and want to keep on reading. For an example, Back in high school, throughout junior year and senior year we always read pointless books. Yes, I understand they were for the class and in order to pass the class you have to read the novel and understand what is going on in the book. I did try my best to read the novels in high school but it was very hard for me to understand and analyze the book. My point here is I need a book that is going to keep me interesting and I want to be able to keep on reading. I did pass my English class, but I did struggle and have to try extra hard to pay attention to what was happening in the book and the little symbols, important points in the chapters and understanding what is happening in the book. My strategies to understand a difficult book lead me to always be taking notes when I am reading a page or chapter. I always write down the characters and main important scenes in the book. It keep my brain focused and if I forget what I just had read I can go back to my notes that I just took on the chapter and look back at them. The notes helps me 100% more than just remember what happens in each chapter. One of my bad strategies I personally have is day dreaming and thinking about other things when I am reading a book. When I am in the middle of a chapter for an example, I will be thinking about what I am going to do tomorrow rather than focusing on the book and what is happening in the book. This leads to note taking on all the chapters I read to note what is going on in the chapter.  Reading is one of my interest but like I said in the beginning I have to be interesting and engaged in the reading if I want to finish the novel.  Although, When it comes to time and reading I like to manage my time in a good way. I like to put it least 2 hours a day in reading on the novel I am focused on. I like to read whenever I have the free time, which is usually before I go to work in the afternoon and at night before I go to bed. An hour each or if that, even more reading wouldn’t hurt. Reading twice a day for a couple hours will get your knowledge, thinking, writing and make you a better reader most of all 100%.

Owl of occurrence

Scene One:

Analyzing scene one is about a 35year old man who is surrounded by a stream of water and a railroad. Around himis a forest scene with full, green trees. The man who is about to face deathreally tends to think about his thoughts and what is brain is thinking andgoing through. This man’s death is connected to noose in the story. He has awife and children at home and at the same time have had solders and sergeantsaround him. The little things the man thinks about is his watch ticking and"bridge stood with his rifle in the position known as "support."as the sergeant or other man said to him. The author wrote this scene becauseit feels that he feels this way and has been in a situation like this. The manin the story is facing death soon and the author feels obligated and would beworrying about the same thoughts and having the same thoughts. The meaning ofthe story is facing death, rifles, sergeants and simple sentimental stuff likeslavery and the captains surrounded by him. He is suffering from something thathappens to a lot of civil Americans. Also, it is not just hanging with a rope,as the story was based off but also rifles, guns, bombs and fighting like inthe wars. During the civil war, the most innocent people would get the luckyone and loose them. Some were stuck in slavery and had to go down with the lookon being unfair. Looking back on the story, the mid-young man who got caught ina bad situation the purpose and meaning of what the author was trying to say deathcame to this man and is caught up. The analyzing of the railroad and the bridgeand the ways all the men in the scene were positioned to be doing. The menstood like brave men with their hands folded and some in their pockets with asilent and plain face on. This man had everything normal but they might havebeen judging him off his bad habits. Private soldiers who were surrounding him fiercefully and furthermore continued to just stand there while the man was thinkingabout his thoughts because of what was happening to him. This man was easilydistracted and just by a piece of drift he was getting sidetracked because ofthis disturbance from these sergeants that came to him and are hurting a civilinnocent American who was just standing there in the water upon a railroadtrack. He was very misunderstood but all that was on his head was his familyand the death that was about to happen to him. Therefore, he stood there withconfusion and waited patiently until the sergeants stood there also. He feltlike he wanted to just swim in the bank and break free. He was thankful his lovedones were far from where he was and ended with the sergeant stepping aside atlast foot.

The Thirteenth Amendment is stating that neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, and to except as a punishment for a crime in which the party shall have been duly convicted and shall exist in the united states or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

The Fourteenth Amendment is stating all persons born or naturalized in the U.S or subjected to the jurisdiction of citizens of the U.S and the state wherein they reside. The fifthteeth Amendment is stating the right of citizens of the U.S to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the united states or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

Summerizing in my own words and talking about the 13,14,15th amendement is subject of stating a right in rules and laws prior to the united states. They are stating any persons have a right and is the law to these amendments. No person to do a crime should not be convicted no matter what to their jurisdiction. All persons in the united states to reside, and citizens in the united states with legislation and congress has every right to the power and to control.Citizens also in the united states have every right to vote over the age of 18. Also, cannot be judged by the race or what color skin you are.

Learning about MLA citations and TEA paragraphs are very interesting and very helpful to know whether or not your transferring to a 4-year college or not. Knowing the TEA paragraph is already helpful in my knowledge by my teacher just explaining the information and introducing us to this new information that will prepare us to write good, use evidence for your topic for the essay you are writing. TEA paragraph is a paragraph with a main idea or a clam that should be made in a paragraph. Also, the topic sentance focuses the paragraph as well. Evidence is also part of the TEA paragraph  which helps support specific, data and furthermore information to help support or develop the point. Anaysis is the main meaning for the TEA paragraph and putting it all together. Analysis is he meaning of very important information that the writer learned from and should be explained and evaluated. To elaborate to the point and the information should also link with the topic sentance and thesis sentance. I look at it as thinking of my analysis as my own opinion.

Journal writing 1

1) Brainstorming about the civil war, it was always the time with reconstruction period that followed the civil war.1860's is when the pre-war reconstruction began. The military, politics, social impact, economy and morality began through the U.S, north, south and Texas as well. The civil war happened in the 1800's and Abraham Lincoln was president between 1809-1865. As well as after Abraham, Andrew Johnson was president through 1808-1875. Civil war started mostly but not all because of slavery. There was a conflict with economics and social differences between the north and the south. Also continued with federal rights and slave and non-slavery proponents. The outcome to all of this is the nation left on very bad terms. The Moderate Republicans did somewhat stop the slavery.
